Went down to Sabie this weekend with a couple of friends. We were there to race in the Sabie Mountain Bike Classic, in my opinion the best MTB race in South Africa. On the way there we drove through the biggest thunder storm in history, and we almost turned around! Luckily we didn’t. The race was a celebration of mud! Strange how enjoyable it is to get so dirty every once in a while that you can barely recognise your friends! Once again I didn’t train enough, and I started getting these thoughts where I just want to kill myself to make the pain go away? I finished 20 minutes slower than last year, but mark my words… next year I will train properly for the race!
