Just finished watching High Fidelity for the eighth time with my friend David, and we were joking about Conan O’Brian’s top 5 worst TV shows ever.

Here is Herman and David’s top 5 worst TV shows between 1989 and 2005.

1. Walker Texas Ranger, Starring Chuck Norris (1989 – 2005 and still running strong)

And then there is The Office; a show that is so funny that it may actually be considered a health risk.

    Nooit guys,

You can’t put Baywatch on your list, the Mitch is the man. Walker does make me feel kind of nauseous everytime I try to watch it, I can’t explain it, it’s the most natural reaction my body has when I watch it.

    Worst Shows:
    1) Walker T. Ranger
    2) Days of our lives, Young and the Restless, Passions etc.
    3) SA Pop idols
    4) Big Brother in ANY country
    5) Conan O’Brien (Reason: He has achieved some godlike status in the group of friends, where anything he says is the truth and the whole truth. He is apparently the epitome of coolness, I wouldn’t know because I don’t have satellite, but I never like it when a man becomes the LAW. Maybe that’s also why I don’t like Walker-TR.)

    Best shows:

    1) Oprah Winfrey
    2) Son of the Beach
    3) The Simpsons, Futurama, any one of those classics that shows on M-net at 18:30.
    4) Business Report, Political analysis etc.
    5) Hidden Hills

P.S One of the authors of this webpage likes that special show that shows on e-tv after twelve on a Saturday.

Don’t worry, I’m just joking about that last comment.
    Or am I?

  3. hannes wrote on May 24th, 2005 at 5:33 pm

You probably just forgot to add this one to your list…

There’s only one thing worse than Johann the “golden boy” Stemmet: Jerry Springer and his friends.

    (25 series) x (12 shows/series) x (R30 000 “5 in ‘n ry”) = R9 000 000 = The cost of having a really, really bad taste in music.

I forgot about “Murder, She Wrote”, a particularly painful show. As a child, this damn show was on every time I turned on the TV!

In germany JackAss is the only program they don’t translate to german (you should hear Star Wars in german, funny stuff), so JackAss is a first class show you can watch anywhere.

Dismissed is horrible. Imagine Johan Stemmit, Yuri Els and Patricia Lewis together on dismissed…Now that’s comedy!!!

    2 worst tv shows

    1) Dawson’s creek. That dawson really gets up your ass if you know what I mean
    2) Seventh Heaven. The whole family should have died already and gone to heaven.

Definitely ‘The Farm’, a Belgian TV show in which Belgian participants have to ’survive’ on a South African farm. Reason: the South African farmer thinks he speaks Dutch and the Belgians think the farmer speaks Afrikaans.

I have one that will take you guys back. One of the worse:
“Brackenjan”. Mice with deep afrikaner accents. Come on. Never got close to that show when I was a kid. It was stupid. Everyone remembers the barking intro. The show ended there for me.

by the way, who agrees that revenge of the sith is the best star wars ever? i thought it was fantastic how the tecnology is heavy in the beginning and then totally blends in with a new hope towards the end! I think this was the best of all of them. How funny is R2D2 when he sprays those droids in oil and set them on fire, and when yoda waves his hands and the guards die at the fight with palpetine!!! seriously hottest movie i’ve seen all year! went straight home and watched 1 and 2 and then the trilogy again! Went to see this the 19th of May and people in Leicester Square were walking around with Lightsabres and cheering. Fantastic vibe.

    Hey

Natalie, jy is in die kol! Revenge of the Sith was damn fine! Almost as fine as you are Babe!

Ek gaan nou maar in Engels skryf.

I really liked the part in the movie where Anakin gets the s*** beat out of him by Obiwan. It was such a relief to see him suffer like that, the guy is an absolute loser. I liked the way the movie stays true to all the characters and costumes they used in the older movies. And yes, R2D2 is the ultimate combat droid. Nuff said.

As with all the later Star Wars, the movie had too much to take in all at once, every scene had so many tiny little details that you could never take it all in. I wasn’t bored for a moment.

Can’t believe you’re listing baywatch as one your 5 worst shows ever. Baywatch is the best, not even the Hoff could spoil the hours of fun watching baywatch. Mmmmm….. Run Yashmine, Run!!!! OooH-Ye babe.

If I’m not mistaking, Baywatch is the most watched TV show of all time. Obviously, it must then be good. What I like about Baywatch? I would have to say the great story lines is what gets me!

Honestly, want to diss a bad show, how about Chips?
