I find it amazing how quickly information can propagate around the world these days using email. Yesterday at 11am +2GMT, only 11 hours after Zidanes World Cup Head Butt, I received the first Zidane Mortal Combat joke in my inbox. During the course of the day I received the same email 4 more times. The senders of these emails come from 3 different social circles who would not be on each others mailing lists, so it wasn’t the “same” email although it was the same email (If you understand what I mean?).
On the other hand, information stops spreading just a quickly as it started. By now everybody around the world with more than 1 contact in their email list has probably received the Zidane joke, and I suspect that I probably won’t receive any more emails today. Perhaps a horde of imitators will start spreading new Zidane jokes today?
