Tiramisu
A couple of weeks ago Schirin arrived at my house with something amazing… Tiramisu that she made herself. Virtually Everybody loves a good dessert, and believe me, this dessert put a smile on everyone’s face. In fact it was so good I had to have it again.
So this weekend I put on my apron, got together all the ingredients and prepared it for Sunday lunch dessert. The cool thing about Tiramisu is that it is so easy to make, anyone can do it. I slapped this miracle dessert together in 20 minutes. I made 1 mistake though, I prepared only 1 hour before we ate it. It was still a bit “runny” because it didn’t have time to chill and settle properly. So here’s a tip, make sure you prepeare the tiramisu the day before you plan to serve it, this will ensure that it has time to settle completely.
For those of you who want to spread happiness, I have included the recipe. You can thank me later…
Ingredients:
- 4 Eggs (separated)
- 100g Icing sugar
- 10ml Sherry
- 500g Mascarpone cheese
- 2 Packets finger biscuits
- Large cup of strong coffee
- Cocoa
Directions:
- Mix the egg yellows, icing sugar, sherry and mascarpone cheese.
- Whisk egg whites until it forms peaks and fold into mixture.
- Prepare very strong coffee and let it cool down.
- Dip biscuits in the coffee and layer twice in a bowl with mixture.
- Dust cocoa over mixture until all you see is cocoa…
- Okay, so I said the recipe was really easy, but here comes the hard part… Chill the tiramisu in the fridge for 24 hours. I know it is impossible to wait that long, but you have to do it, trust me.
