I am doing the shift today because the other man was robbed and beaten. Because he didn't have anything to give they beat him. I only saw the pictures on my phone. He has a cut on his head. He was discharged yesterday. The people that beat him use Nyaope. They don't care about a life. I have never used Nyaope. The ones that use it just want to try it to see how it feels. They say when you use it just once, you want to use it again. I think it is about R30 for a little piece of plastic with Nyaope. The Nigerians are not the ones selling it. They are manufacturing.
My name is Spear Mxoli. I am Xhosa. I come from Eastern Cape. I came here in 2006. My friend told me to come because there are jobs here. There are no jobs where I come from. I arrived at Bosman Station and phoned my friend. His phone was off. I haven't seen him since I am here in Gauteng. I took a taxi to Mamelodi. I got off and started looking around. I went to a Shibeen and I met a nice guy. He said I can come to his room and sleep there. He was also a Xhosa. He took me to Menlyn to find a job. I got a job washing cars. In 2007 I got my job as a security guard.
I sometimes go back home to Eastern Cape. My parents have a home there. They are both passed away. I have 1 brother and no sisters. My brother is living there. He is surviving. He has many chickens and goats. I don't have a wife. I have 2 children. My brother has 4 children. His children are living with their mothers. I send some money to my brother sometimes. I'm not ready to go back home. I want to first see things here.
